Dr Higgins spent five years occupied in hospitals in Ireland in various fields of medicine including: general medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, psychiatry, pediatrics, emergency medicine and ear nose and throat. She believes in a holistic approach to tolerant care. She has been a GP for 35 years, and is also a pilot with a particular interest in Aviation Medicine. She has been made a honorary Member of ASAP. She has been at Peregian Springs Doctors for the preceding 10 years. Camilla moved to Australia in 199, subsequent her residency at Christchurch Hospital in Fresh Zealand. During that time, she attained a Diploma in Obstetrics and gynecology. She enjoys all aspects of General Practice and family medicine, but has a exceptional interest in Women’s Health. Gordon completed his GP training in Ayrshire in Scotland in 1996 and worked for the latter four years in Girvan, Ayrshire in his father and grandfather’s used practice. He returned to Scotland, where he met and married his wife Michelle prior tomorrow back to Australia in 2006. His special interests include general and emergency medicine and diabetic care. Originally from the diamond city of Kimberley in South Africa, Wiaan graduated from Stellenbosch University in 1994 and spent time active in Namibia, and many hospitals all over the UK. For the past 6 years Wiaan has lived on the Sunshine Coast with his wife and two children. Wiaan is an enthusiastic kite surfer and when the wind is blowing between 13 18 knots you will probably find him somewhere on the water. Her exceptional interests are all aspects of family medicine and women’s health. Simpson trained in the UK gaining his medical degree from London University and then spent the next 7 years working in various specialties in hospitals before completing his vocational training in General Practice and gaining his Fellowship (FRACGP). Nick Hinds graduated from the University of Queensland in 2008 after spending much of his training in rural Queensland. Nick has a keen interest in all aspects of general practice, including preventative medicine. He has undertaken further postgraduate training in skin cancer and aesthetic medicine and believes in a holistic approach to patient concern and has completed training with the Australian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine. He moved to Darwin in 1984 and worked at the Darwin Hospital for considerable years and then in solo General Practice until 1994 when he and wife Moira and three children decided to move to the Sunshine Coast. At Coolum Beach and Peregian Springs you will have access to a multitude of facilities including private schools, public schools and daycare centers catering for children from 6 weeks through to lofty school, while the University of the Sunshine Coast is a short 20 tiny drive away.

To make safe we are looking after your health in the best feasible way we foster continuity of care and suggest that you see your routine doctor whenever possible. Emergencies and patients with an appointment will eternal be given priority. If you or a family member requires an interpreter service, we can organism this for you. In the absence of a stylish card, a consultation fee applies. Employment, recreational medicals and Labor Conceal consultations. Patients with a current Medicare card will be required to pay a fee at the time of the consultation. This is the quickest and easiest way of claiming and requires that Medicare is in possession of your registered bank account details. To guard your privacy and to produce you with continuity of protection it is our policy that results are not given out over the telephone. We interrogate that you make a followup appointment with your usual doctor (or the doctor that has requested the tests) to discuss the results. We will advise you at the time of your consultation when the results are expected to be available, and suggest that you make a follow up appointment for this time. Our practice uses a recall and reminder system to make safe we are looking after your health by promoting continuity of care. The system encourages you to be actively involved in decisions about your health. Information from your health records tell us which checkups you are due and when you should visit your doctor. The reminder system will also mention tests needed to help prevent or detect sure conditions such as diabetes, tall blood pressure, lofty cholesterol and some forms of cancer (particularly cervical and prostate cancer) as healthy as treatments such as followup immunizations. In some cases, you may also take reminders in addition to those generated from our practices, for example the Queensland Government Pap Smear Register (for the detection of cervical cancer). Our doctors succeed the guidelines outlined in the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners guidelines for preventive activities in general practice’. Home visits are available for steady patients of this practice whose condition prevents them from attending the surgery. Home visits are undertaken at the discretion of the doctors. We have a formal arrangement with Home Doctor Service to provide protection outside of our conventional opening hours. If your first language is not English and you would like the aid of a translator, please let us know and we will make use of a free service provided by the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs called the Translating and Interpreting Service (Dis).
